The Mountain Coffee Co, nestled in the heart of Gairloch, offers a cozy retreat for coffee lovers and food enthusiasts alike. Patrons rave about the exceptional coffee, perfectly complemented by a delightful array of baked goods. Ian Wilkinson describes it as a café with "lots of vegan options" and a charming ambiance that you stumble upon serendipitously.
Among the highlights, the freshly baked scones stand out. N. P. notes they are the "best scones" experienced during their travels in Scotland, describing them as "melt in your mouth." This sentiment is echoed by others who appreciate the rustic charm and exceptional service, making each visit memorable.
For those with dietary preferences, the vegan cheesecake is a must-try, with one customer proclaiming it as "the best ever." Coupled with a unique olive oil latte, the experience showcases the café's commitment to quality ingredients and creativity. While the vibe is warm and inviting, adorned with political art, some visitors express a desire for more savory options. Still, with its friendly atmosphere and well-stocked bookshop next door, The Mountain Coffee Co is certainly worth a visit for both coffee and culture enthusiasts.

Great cafe, lots of vegan options and great coffee. A nice place to find when you're not really looking!!
The best scones and the best coffee we enjoyed while travelling through Scotland. Freshly baked, to melt in your mouth. The atmosphere there is cosy and special. The miniature gondola reminded us of our home in the Bavarian Alps. The bookshop next door is well stocked with selected titles. Definitely worth a visit!
Lovely food and friendly staff. The coffee was amazing as were the scones. I would recommend just for the coffee.
I came to check the "best ever vegan cheesecake" review and and I don't regret it. I had the best vegan cheesecake ever! With nice Palestinian olive oil latte Very nice place, kind and lovely staff, wee bookstore
This is a cute little stop off in Gairloch. Loved the vibe of the place with all the decor and good taste in political art... The guy serving was super friendly! Good range of cakes. Only reason I knocked a star off for the food is due to the lack of savoury choices.
What a brilliant find this place was! So glad we came across it. Don't understand all the negative reviews.... I think some people expect every coffee place to be like Costa or Starbucks.. Amazing place, friendly atmosphere and loved sitting and looking at all the knick knacks around the walls. I had lemon meringue pie ( which was delicious and fresh), hot chocolate which was lovely. My husband had cheese and tomato focaccia with rosemary on which he said was delicious and a black coffee which he said was the best he'd ever had....and we have tried coffee in a LOT of cafes. And the bookshop was amazing too, I browsed for a while and bought a book. What not to love: a coffee shop AND a bookshop. Brilliant place, will definitely visit again soon and would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends.
Brilliant independent coffee and book shop, my Wife had the best cortado ever yesterday, and the cappuccino & carrot cake was superb. This chap certainly knows how to source and make the perfect brew, well worth a stop by when passing Gairloch.
An amazing cafe and bookshop in gairloch, I'd drove past in January and saw it was closed over the winter season so was very excited when I was coming back from a hiking trip to see it was open. The whole place has a lovely atmosphere with lots of mountaineering artworks and books dotted about. The staff are very lovely and we're nice to chat too. The coffee and drinks were all really good and there's a large selection of alternatives drinks aswell. The food was also lovely with lots of options to choose through and taste delicious I even kept going back to get more treats! There's also lots of food alternatives aswell.
